hi boys and girls it's mrs. Monica I miss you very much I hope you enjoyed your spring break got to have some fun and relax for a read-aloud today we're going to read the last and third chapter and Housley Katina moving forward I did get a couple other of books on houndsley and Catina so we can start doing our read-alouds and reading across the series and getting to know the characters a little bit more each time we read a new book so let's move in 2 chapter 3 I have to say this is one of my favorite chapters in a book because I love the colors love the characters and it gives me a very calm peaceful feeling called chapter 3 one night houndsley and Catina were sitting outside watching fireflies this was one of their favorite things to do together they sat quietly for a long time just remind very peaceful summer night At Last house they said I did not need a new set of pots and pans remember and that last chapter when he was trying to the pots and pans and that cooking contest I only wanted to win that contest to show everyone I was the best cook you are the best cook Catena said I do not need to be the best said housing in a soft as a ruse I just enjoy cooking trying to be the best me me nervous I did not have fun if you do not have fun doing something you like to do what's the point Katina thought about this I do not have fun writing she said as they begin to walk or just surprised that she's that even though I know we were noticing she wasn't the best writer I was surprised when I read that she does not enjoy or have fun writing she says my mind wanders and I get bored a firefly blink to her famous writer she's went on but I do not like to write perhaps you will be famous at something else said houndsley yes, Tina said first I will find something I like to do then I will do it and do it and do it until I'm very good at it I know something you're good at already said houndsley although you will never be famous for it wondering what it is what being my friend Katina began to being your friend is better than being famous she said you really can see how close they are and how meaningful their friendship is as we get to the last chapter of this book so sweet counseling Katina came to their favorite spot they sat for a long time they did not talk about winning prizes or being famous they did not talk about anything they say tell the Sweet Summer air and listen to The Crickets they watch the fireflies dance and blank and light up the night in front of them everyone has talents watching fireflies was one of theirs so what I want you to think about after reading this book I realize the author's purpose was to teach us the readers and maybe give us many different lessons so sometimes authors write books free purpose for a reason and there are many different kinds of lessons within a book so I want you to think about looking again at this Peach is about even when hounds we talked about not needing to be the best cook trying to be the best made him nervous and he was not having any fun think about when Katina admitted that he did not like writing it seems like she may want to be famous but not a famous writer so what's so special about this page Why did the author end the book this way how did the last page you feel so if you really take the time to go back and think maybe even look at the other videos that we did about this read aloud what was the author's purpose what kind of feeling did this leave you as at the end what do you think the lesson was and a lot of books have more than one lesson so it's okay for each of you to come up with possibly a different lesson if you get to even talk to any of your friends in our class about the read aloud or even if you find some different lessons in this book to so when you're ready post your response on flipgrid can't wait to see you there talk to you soon bye again I always miss all of you thinking of you all the time
